In an exciting evening filled with music, freebies, and fashion, Rent the Runway pulled out the big guns, or rather stilettos, for the first annual Syracuse University Rent the Runway fashion show, sponsored by L’Oreal Paris. As if the cookies and free nail polish were not enough, once seated, each guest was surprised with a little pink package underneath their chair containing more killer products, including L’Oreal Paris Healthy Look hair dye, conditioner, shampoo, and additional fall nail colors. The goodies were just added bonuses to the entertaining show that the Syracuse RTR team orchestrated.  Rent the Runway showed up with dresses from the F/W 2013 collections of major designers such as Halston Heritage, Rebecca Taylor, Herve Leger, Elizabeth and James, Trina Turk, Nanette Lepore, and Badgley Mischka. Styles ranged from fun and flirty day dresses that can be worn to brunch, to chic, yet edgy cocktail dresses that would be perfect for the holidays or formals.  A few key trends that the SU girls rocked on the catwalk included peplum dresses, embellished accents, pleated skirts, and sheer or one-shoulder sleeves. Color schemes for this season included jewel tones like emerald green, pearl, ruby red, and amethyst, as well as classics such as navy and black. The RTR team even showed some ‘Cuse spirit with a bright orange piece!
